		TSP - Textile Solution Provider



TSP, abbreviation for Textiles Solution Provider, means a company, organization or entity that have access to, but does not necessarily own, yarn spinner, knitting mill, dyeing mill,, printing mill, sewing mill etc. Such company, organization or entity can optimizes all resources available to arrange production of yarn, fabric, garments and other textiles products more effectively than any manufacturer.

Manufacturers normally focus on the production of one or a few particular products, but a TSP can arrange almost all customized products by organizing its partnership mills. Especially in China, a TSP is normally more efficient and competitive than manufacturers.

In the most competitive case, the TSP buys the right yarn from the right yarn supplier, send it to the right knitting house, then send the greige fabric to the right dyeing house, then to the right sewing mill to make the right garments.

Let's take, for instance, the production of modal garment in flatlock stitching:-

a.	The TSP firstly buys the modal yarn from China Tienlun, who produces modal yarn; Most knitting houses are not very sure where to buy such yarn;

b.	The TSP sends the yarn to a mill which specializes the production of modal jersey;
	(There are hundreds of knitting mill in Zhangjiagang City, but there are only one to two who know how to knit modal yarn into single jersey. Overseas buyers can never find them since they do not do business by normal marketing, rather people that have been in the industry in the locality know them by words of mouth or casual meeting in cafeteria etc.);

c.	The TSP sends the knitted greige fabric to the right dyeing house to do the dyeing.
	(Similarly, there are hundreds of dyeing houses in the Southern Jiangsu Province, but only three to four of them specialize in modal fabric dyeing, while others specializing in either nylon, polyester, cotton, etc. There is rarely any such thing as a vertical producer of modal fabric in China, quote to the disappointment for western buyers who want to find vertical producers. In China, most mills specialize only in one process and one product needs the co-operation of many mills. This is beyond the knowledge of any western buyer who has no field experience with China.)

d.	The TSP sends the finished fabric to the correct flatlock stitching mill to sew the fabric into garments.


The specialty of China's textile is that the concepts are totally different from western ideas. In the early 80th of last century, many rich farmers, though rich, but were limited in funds, they bought and run a few knitting or weaving machines only and made money by performing one process only in the whole production chain. When the had big orders, they would work with other similar mills to complete the order on time. Such status of business lasts to the present age.

TSPs in China are more often than not, misunderstood by overseas customers and erroneously called agents. They are in no sense agents, rather they optimizes resource to achieve results that most manufacturers can never achieve.
